Lion Services is proud to host the nation’s first adaptive medical station thanks to a partnership between Lions Services, Metrolina Association for the Blind, and Mecklenburg County Public Health. Here people with vision loss can check their blood pressure, blood sugar, weight, oxygen levels, and review medication bottles with audible devices. And, have a meeting with a telehealth provider. The Adaptive Medical Station has been a wonderful tool helping the blind and visually impaired employees to manage their health independently without having to take time off work allowing independence and privacy regarding their health. Having accessible audible devices makes managing your health a lot easier! We are thankful for our partnerships that have helped make this possible!
Our Project has received some National recognition during the month of May 2023 at the 2023 NNPHI Annual Conference held in Washington, DC, discuss public health and taking control of your health!
