Shondell Miller
Meet Shondell Miller, Lions Services Machine Operator for 8 years, who has lived with Retinitis Pigmentosa since the age of 22. Shondell Miller assembles and sews MOLLE Hydration carriers for the military. Shondell heard about Lions Services after relatives suggested the organization, and discovered a work environment that fit his life with vision loss. Shondell applied, then quickly became a valuable asset.
Shondell Miller has useful skills around the clock, and being a father is one of them. Shondell is able to provide for his family despite having blurred vision that complicates his ability to read small print or details. Retinitis Pigmentosa hasn’t prevented him from coming to work with a smile. Among his favorite activities, Shondell states that he loves to spend time with his two sons. The challenges he faces with visual impairment have strengthened Shondell’s character. “I’m not a would-have-could-have type of person. I’m here now and not anywhere else.”
Congratulations Employee of the Year, Shondell Miller!
