1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, and provide information to the owners of the site. Cookies set by the website you are visiting are called "first-party cookies." Cookies set by other websites are called "third-party cookies."
2. How We Use Cookies
We use cookies necessary to run the website, analytics cookies that help us understand which pages and programs are most useful to visitors, and Google Ads conversion-measurement cookies that tell us when our outreach advertising leads to a donation or contact. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use cross-site behavioral retargeting.
Under our CCPA opt-out model, non-essential cookies are set by default for U.S. visitors. When you first visit our site you will see a soft cookie notice; you can dismiss it, accept to record your explicit consent, or decline non-essential to opt out immediately. We also automatically honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal. You can change your preferences at any time using Cookie Settings in the footer.

Marketing / Advertising Cookies (Google Ads conversion measurement)
Lions Services uses Google Ads conversion measurement to understand which of our outreach ads lead to a donation, contact, or volunteer signup. This sets a small number of Google-issued cookies (typically _gcl_au, _gcl_aw) used by Google to attribute the conversion to the originating ad click. We do not use cross-site behavioral retargeting and we do not sell personal information.
These cookies run by default under our CCPA opt-out model and stop immediately if you opt out through the cookie notice, the Cookie Settings page, or if your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal.
4. Managing Your Preferences
You have several ways to control cookies:
- On this website: visit Cookie Settings at any time to review and change your choices.
- In your browser: most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Look for the "Privacy" or "Security" section of your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may prevent some websites from working correctly.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC): we honor the GPC browser signal as a valid opt-out preference signal under California law. If your browser sends GPC, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, even though we do not sell personal information.
5. Google Consent Mode v2 (CCPA opt-out posture)
We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion measurement with Consent Mode v2 under a CCPA opt-out model. For U.S. visitors, advertising and analytics signals are granted by default so we can measure outreach effectiveness, and we transmit an immediate Consent Mode "update — denied" signal if you opt out through the cookie notice, the Cookie Settings page, or if your browser sends the Global Privacy Control header. You can revoke consent at any time and your choice is remembered across pages.
6. Updates to This Policy
If we change the cookies we use, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. For significant changes we will re-surface the cookie banner so you can review and re-confirm your choices.
